Piqua Fish & Game holds meetings the third Wednesday of each month. Meeting time starts at 5:30.

Our Member Meeting had several guests from the Junior Motorcycle Association of the Hometown Heroes Motorcycle Association. The Jr. Association sponsor, Danielle Meyer, told the group that she was here representing them. She explained that the Jr. Association 14 members and that the Jr. group puts on an axe throwing competition as one of their fund-raising events for their charitable contributions. She then turned the meeting over to Jazmyne Davis, a Jr. Ass. Member, who spoke to the many non-profit groups, such as Angle Wings, and several veterans’ organizations they contribute to and that they would like to use PFG Trap grounds to hold their fund raiser this year. They will have an axe throwing Doubles Tournament and Singles Tournament, Corn Hole face painting and more.

Vice-President, Chris Black reported that we now have 868 members, 100 of which are new members.
Jesse Scott, Secretary, noted that we have 251 members who have taken the new Range and Firearm Orientation Class for 2025.
He then motioned that 2 more concrete benches be purchased to finish the Rifle Range project started last year. A second was made and the motion passed.
Steel Challenge has purchased another set of targets. These will be installed on April 11th and will replace the steel post targets that are currently on the 50-yard range. The first Steel Challenge Match of the year will be April 12th, and starts at 9:45.
The Spring trap shoot meeting was held on March 12th. Mike Helton will be working trap this year, along with Phil Treon, Bruce Wailes, and Dan Warren. Don Ruffner will be available as a substitute. Trap will open April 14th, at 6:00.
The initial meeting of the 22 Benchrest group will be held on March 20th. There are currently 6 members who will be working on things like rules, required manpower, fees and logistics. For the 1st year, the competition will be limited to Piqua Fish and Game members.
Erin Black, Treasurer, told the group that she and Brian Emrick are working on bringing Keno to the club. She will also be contacting the POS vender to get the “ghost chip” process activated for the Club.
Todd Wernick, Trustee, has been working to clean up some long-standing projects. He is currently working on lighting for the rear parking lot. His next projects include more lighting for the patio and new purse hangers for the bar.
Todd informed the Board that currently, Lot A is not included in the Lottery for open spaces in Lots B and C. Beginning in 2026, all campers who have been in Lot A for at least 2 years, will be included in the Lottery.
John Emrick, Trustee
Speaking for the Events Committee, John announced their chicken wing cook-off will be on March 30th. Contestants cannot be judges. Contestants are to bring their wings in between 12:00 and 1:00, and judging will be at 1:15.
The Children’s egg hunt will be April 12th at 12:00. Signups for the egg hunt close on April 5th.
John mentioned that the pool table was still not covered. Erin will purchase when John gives her the dimensions.
John stated that Door 7 and Door 4 both need to be replaced. A motion was made to do so, seconded and passed.
Mark Kinnard, Trustee noted that registrations for the State Cowboy Shoot sponsored by SASS are coming in at a steady pace and expects around 125 shooters this year. All other associated projects are underway.
Brian Phenning, Trustee Brian has had full knee replacement surgery and is recovering at home. Let’s all wish him a speedy recovery.
