The Piqua Fish & Game has an excellent Rifle Range. This range is the place to site in new firearms, test fire your weapons, set up your scope or just shoot some paper targets out to 137 yards. There is also a 12” gong in the Northwest corner that will test your accuracy. This range is dedicated to the use of rifles, pistol caliber carbines, and shotguns using the available patterning board. We haveseven covered shooting lanes, 6 with concrete benches and 1 with wood benches. All are covered. Target stands, cardboard backers and staple guns are in the shed.Chairs, stools, trash cans, port-o-johns, and buckets for clean-up of brass are all on-site and readily available.
This range is also used for our monthly .22 LR Benchrest Matches. These matches are held on the 3rd Sunday of every month and start at 9:00.(For the remainder of 2025; September 21, October 19, November 16, December – TBD).These are run in squads of 6 shooters. To shoot you need a .22 LR caliber rifle or carbine. There are 2 classes of rifle; under $1250 or $1250 and over, MSRP.The price includes all rifle modifications but not the scope. You can use any scope and .22 LR ammunition you choose. A bipod, mechanical rest or sandbags are recommended for the forend and a sandbag or 2nd rest for the rear. The front and rear rests cannot be connected. The competition target, which displays 25 bullseyes and one tiebreaker is placed at 50 yards. You may pre-stage your rifle, (bagged), and gear at the bench you draw, but no setup is allowed until the Range Officer gives the signal. You then have 10 minutes to set up, and sight your firearm in after which you have 20 minutes to shoot the 25 bullseyes and 1 tiebreaker.
